We had a great event on February 10th just before the reminder that winter is not yet over. Winter in Michigan is like a roller-coaster ride. One moment you're enjoying a mild 40 F day with a light breeze, like that of our event day, and the next, you're bundled up against biting winds and heavy snow. This "whiplash" of Michigan winter poses significant challenges for everyone, but especially for our neighbors in need.
As temperatures fluctuate wildly, our neighbors face immense difficulties in staying warm, dry, and healthy. The need for essential goods becomes even more pressing during these harsh winter months. At our event, we were able to serve a meal and provide essential goods to more than 60 neighbors! We shared good conversations, and got to see our work touch the lives of others.
Donations of warm clothing, sleeping bags, hats, gloves, and socks can make a significant impact on the lives of our neighbors. Moreover, access to food and hygiene products is essential. We are immensely grateful for our donors and volunteers. We could not work towards our mission without you.
To donate, please see our Amazon wish list, or make donations to our drop-off box at The Community Church in Ada (7239 Thornapple River Dr SE, Ada, MI 49301) or join us for our next event on March 9th, 2024.
